BridgeUp STEM
BridgeUP STEM brings together a diverse community of Atlanta-area female and nonbinary high school students who are interested in pursuing computing careers. Those students then work with Georgia Tech College of Computing undergraduate mentors, research faculty, and graduate students in a year-long program.
The program exposes aspiring high school and undergraduate computing researchers to experiences, inspiration, and opportunities afforded by the program’s location in an elite research university. The students start with a four-week summer coding program, and then take a course throughout the year that focuses on real-world computing problems.
BridgeUP STEM is a collaboration between the Georgia Tech College of Computing and the National Center for Women & Information Technology, funded by a grant from the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation.
